Mortgage, 2010
installation, mixed media
After the Oslo agreement and the structuring of the Palestinian Authority, many Palestinian farmers and workers became policemen and clerks; in an exaggerated amount in relation to the population. In almost every home there is one policeman....While their salaries were very low, the Palestinian banks offered loans to state employees only, in order to make ends meet. This created a situation where people are bound to the bank and the Palestinian authority for life. So, I say, the future of the Palestinian state is the mortgage.
